Seafile
Mount a single Seafile library, including regular libraries and encrypted libraries that the server API can unlock.
Adapter type: seafile. See Common configuration for mounting instructions.
Setup
- Prepare the Seafile site URL and an account authorized for the library.
- Open the library and obtain its ID from
/library/<repo_id>/, or use the Seafile API. - Supply
usernameandpassword, or a user token obtained through/api2/auth-token/. - For encrypted libraries, also set
repo_password. Setrootto a directory inside the library without including its name.
Configuration
Supply
token, or bothusernameandpassword; encrypted libraries also requirerepo_password.
| Field | Type | Required | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|

repo_id | string | Yes | — | Required library UUID. |

password | password | No | — | Remote account password. |
token | password | No | — | Seafile user API token; an alternative to credentials. |

root | string | No | "/" | Directory on the backend, separate from the mount path displayed in Foxel. |
timeout | number | No | 60 | Request or connection timeout in seconds. |
Example
This is a config object. In the admin form, fill the corresponding fields rather than pasting the whole object. Replace credential placeholders with your own values.

"base_url": "https://seafile.example.com",
"repo_id": "YOUR_LIBRARY_UUID",
"username": "[email protected]",
"password": "YOUR_PASSWORD",
"root": "/",
"timeout": 60
}
Behavior and limitations
repo_idis required; the adapter does not enumerate all libraries.tokenis a user API token rather than a share URL or library download link.- Credentials allow login again after token expiry. Token-only configurations require manual replacement when invalidated.
- Encrypted library unlocking depends on the remote API and server policy.
Troubleshooting
- Library missing: check its UUID and the account’s library permissions.
- Library password required: supply the library encryption password rather than the account password.
- Listing works but transfers fail: ensure the file-server URLs returned by Seafile are reachable from Foxel and check reverse-proxy addressing.
